Getting Closer to your Mega Project

With getting closer to our mega project, I had the idea of doing this project in the field of social enterprise. I looked and researched on the internet and think about the problems that are present in my surroundings.

The problem that I saw the most around our community is Waste spillage. Whenever I go through the main street, there is waste that is spilled around the waste containers and it gives a bad look to the society and also it's bad for the health of the people.

So, I went to these places and took some pictures. It really looks disgusting as in real and it's very bad for community health. Some of the pictures are from the Sabzi Mandi and the others are from the main streets and the highway.

After talking to my own family and friends close to my home, they all were very disgusted and tired of seeing this waste spillage around the community. They all cursed the Government specially LWMC for their mismanagement of the Waste and also to the people who spill the waste around.

Now, the problem statement for my waste mismanagement is;

“ Due to Waste mismanagement around our community, people are disgusted and fear health and environmental concerns’’.

I have prepared a 60-second problem pitch to describe my project as a startup to convince others about my project.

“Hey, This is Usama. As you know that the waste mismanagement is a common concern of the people for the health and environment. So, I am working to solve this problem by taking the spilled wastes in the communities to a facility where all different types of things are segregated and then sold to different recyclers, cattle farms, and a small non-usable part to the landfills. This would be a social enterprise business model and it would require funding to start.”

This was a great project to work on as we were tested for our skills such as research, thinking, innovation, creativity, etc. Altogether it was a very wholesome activity.
